Who Am I?

Still I wonder
Who am I?
— Lily Frost

Who am I? That’s a question I ask my self all the time. Am I in the right place (metaphorically not literally) and am I doing the right thing?

I live in Regional NSW, but I’m only partly a country girl. I’m also partly rebel-without-a-cause punk, partly hipster, and a good chunk of geek.

I like long walks on the beach, romantic dinners and trashy reality TV. (Excuse me MTV, but I really miss Jersey Shore). I love tacky horror movies. Especially the new, created by SyFy genre of weird, B-Grade ‘Terribly Awesome’ movies like Sharknado 1, 2 and — my favorite — 3: ‘Oh Hell No!.

I’m a creator, not really a writer, and definitely a procrastinator. My high school principal once gave me a handout that had the classic procrastination quote: “Procrastination is like masturbation, you’re only screwing yourself.” Admittedly, he was extremely embarrassed when he realised the handout contained the quote.

I lack the ability to consistently follow through. Have an attention span of a gold fish (by the way, gold fish are awesome). I love junk food, and I have little to no fashion sense and practically live in my doc martens.

My house is always a mess, my mind always runs at 100 miles an hour, and I suck at listening to people. I have more animals living in my house than the average hobby farmer on a 5 acre block (and I live in a tiny house in town). Parrots, Dogs, Cat, Ferret, Fish.

I love to travel, but flying freaks me out. I’m not even sure why, but I really dislike it. Once we’re up in the air I’m ok, but the idea of getting on a plane, being locked in, and the wheels lifting of the ground. Let’s just say my husband doesn’t enjoy flying with me either.

What am I doing here?

Thats one I don’t quite know the answer to. I’m a designer, a web developer and a bit of a photographer. I sew, paint, draw, do anything I can to create something. This is an extension of that. A place to create writing, share everything (well almost everything — some things you won’t want to hear), and generally just be me.
